Question My Eheim 2026 canister filter needs new gasket, leaking!

I had to turn the filter off and called Eheim to order a new gasket. Looks like its going to be a least 3 weeks before I get a replacement. Right now I have a Pengiun 550 power-head running to move some water and hopefully add some oxygen to the water. Does anyone have suggestions on what to do in the meantime?

Do you have any live plants in there? They would definitely help right about now. Otherwise, just keep an eye on your ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels and do a PWC as needed.

In an emergency?.. Use some GE I silicone sealant as a stop-gap measure for the gasket.. It will remove once your replacement is avail. Next?.. don't even think about going to the manufacturer for fast service. Online you'll get it about 1/2 price and apparently 1/3 the delivery time... Sooner if ya wanna pay the freight. Bill in Va.

Could you not fit the filter pads from the eheim into the back of the other filter for now?You can place the ceramic rings and other stuff into stockings and place them in the tank for the time being.
