Cool The lightbulb above my head clicked on today...

So I was trying to figure out why I couldn't have my opaline and my gold gourami together in the same tank. The Opaline one kept attacking the gold one. Turns out the Opaline is a male and the gold is a female!!! I guess they were too young to sex when I got them, but its oh so obvious that the opaline one is a male and the gold is a female.

If your Gold Gourami is smaller than your Opaline Gourami then it might be a conflict. Opalines often attack smaller fishes. They also become demanding when they become large. Gold Gourami is a peaceful fish. It might be incompatible for Gold gourami to live with an Opaline. Try to scrutinize them even more, then you'll be able to know the real reason behind this thing...
