Default Light fixture question

Would something like this work for my planted tank if I used CFLs? I'm concerned that there may be too much light concentrated on one side. It holds three bulbs though, so I could have a pretty decent amount of wattage.

What size of your tank? Do the aquarium place in the whole tank? From the look, the center par reading will be much high than the side.

I actually have one of these lights < well almost identical> Mine has a single fluorescent tube in it as well though.. I used the Reptile UV bulbs that i had in it over our 45 and it seemed to work fine for us. Given we also had natural sunlight coming in through the window in the mornings to help out. you can see part of the fixture in this pic.
