Hello all.
Just looking for some opinions on lighting. Found an LED fixture on ebay for around €150 including shipping and was wondering could someone take a look at it and tell me weither it would be suitable for a 48" x 16" x 16" (50 US Gallon) aquarium to provide a high light output for growing light demanding plants such as red cambomba. And also it comes in 7000k temperature. Would that be sufficent or should I chose the option of a few blue led's or red LEDs along with it? Just a bit confused about the whole LED thing and need a little guidance. The link to the item is: http://cgi.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...84.m1423.l2649 I've been reading up on led lighting lately and purely for the convenience I want to go LED because buying new floresent tubes every year gets a big expensive |

It should work. The only thing I would be worry about is that it is not being shipped from the USA. The plug they use could be different. I think it would work on the tank. They also have a good rating. Ask some more info from the seller.

Had a look at the specs and the light looks ok ... the companies do provide US plugs upon request so this shouldn't be an issue.
May I suggest you have a look at another aquarium light proven for growing plants ... Google this ( OS-ALN120 ) and see if it suites your buget and taste. |
