Just a curious question
In my 2.5 gallon goldfish tank (they're upgrading to a 20 long in a few weeks) i have a bubble wall airstone across the back of the tank, i used a white zip tie to secure a sponge filter to the airstone. Well i noticed that the zip tie is now pink... I thought this was strange. The only chemical anything added to this tank is Tetra Dechlorinator when i do water changes. I also dosed bacteria once after adding the sponge filter.
My question is what turned the white zip tie pink?

Even though the only chemical you put into it was dechlorinator there are still minerals in the water and I would imagine that has something to do with it.

I don't think they are designed to be underwater....could be anything. Maybe one of your fish urinated on it

The only thing pink in the tank is some of the gravel. BUT the water has been crystal clear since day one, i highly doubt it is leeching color, it is previously used gravel too.

One thing that I can think of is... the air. Air bubblers suck in air and put it in the tank right, maybe there is something in the air? I noticed our air tubes are changing colors after a while. Not sure if this is it? But it may be it.
