Warning - Don't mess with your tanks when half asleep!
Got up this morning and wandered into the living room and began my fish keeping duties. First off - open the lines on the DIY CO2 generators. Opened the 33g and fed the crew. Staggered over to the 55g and opened the line for the CO2 and WOW! Check out how much CO2 pressure had built up over night. Looks like a box of alka-celtzer exploded into my diffuser. It's about that time that I said OH _____! I knocked over my DIY Generator and was pumping it's contents into the tank. The sun fish and catfish scattered and started bouncing off the tank walls. They acted really drunk for about 15 minutes while I tried to figure out how to save them from sure death. I figured that a rapid water change was needed, but then again, the two HOB filters were stirring pretty well and maybe any alcohol would churn and evaporate. I chanced it and left it alone and figure that the water change would have to be nearly 100% to remove the alcohol and that either way, the fish were doomed. Well it's been an hour and the guys are acting fine now. So I'm still waiting this out. I figured the alcohol would have killed them instantly, but it looks like they pulled a good drunk and are recovering. I guess time will tell, so I'll be glued to the tank for a few more hours.

I would still do at least a 25% water change. May not have any immediate effects but could long term.

I'd do a water change too on the grounds that it can't hurt. Sounds like you have gotten away with it though.
