The buffering capacity will not make much diff if injecting CO2.

What is the ph of your tap?

Is this during CO2 injection?

When you inject CO2 into your tank you are injecting acid. You can easily raise you ph by adding Rift Valley Cichlid Salts to your water or Crushed Coral to your filter. When you do this you will change your aquarium's chemistry and not as much CO2 will be available to your plants, do you want to do this?

Are you referring to the Kh/ph/CO2 relationship chart? There is much discussion over the validity and accuracy and generally doesn't get referred to much anymore that I have seen. But...this chart refers to natural content of CO2 in water.

However, when injecting CO2 the chart doesn't matter. If I inject a certain amount of CO2, lets just say 5oz, no matter my ph there is still 5oz of CO2 in the tank for plants to utilize. Plant CO2 uptake is not affected by ph. So I guess I am not understanding what you're saying?

Discussion about that chart is pointless - sorry I even brought it up. Seems someone is always willing to debate its validity, no matter which site you go to. The assumptions that are made are that what you read is true, to include what you've read or assume. It doesn't work with an injected tank - period. His is. What is "perfect" water? The only water that should be in a drop checker is 4dkh water.

Ford - you should disconnect your CO2. Dropping it to dangerous levels won't be good.
