Default How to clean old tank?

I finally got my new tank and really excited to get my fish in it asap. The fish tank i bought was used and only paid 80 bucks for it with a stand. It hasnt been used or cleaned in years. The tank has alot of calcium build up and smells pretty bad. I scrubed most of the stuff off inside of the tank with hot water. The corners of the tank are black were the silacone is. How do i clean this? Also there are a few spots on the glass that i could not scrub off. Anyone have any tips or suggestion?

Sit the tank on the side that is bad. Pour vineagar over the ugly spot and let it sit. If you silicone is black, your not getting that out, you need to peel that out and resilicone if you want it back to clear.

Thanks everyone your method worked. Tank looks 100x better. I would like to peel the old dirty silicone off and re do it. Is this a smart idea? I don't want a tank that leaks after all this hard work.
