Hello,
I'm so nervous to move my goldfish to a desperately needed bigger tank, and I keep screwing up the set up. I hope you can help. I bought a 20 gal with a new Enheim canister. I set it to start for a week (no fish in the tank) but read the wrong directions and forgot the media! As I restarted the process, I noticed grease globs attached to the suction cup tube holder and along the glass, plus there's a greasy film on the surface. Are my fish going to die from the greasy stuff? I think it's lube for the pump. Should I just buy a whole new set up for them? Thanks any insight is appreciated!!!! ![]() |

You can clean it off. From what I understand its basically petroleum jelly.Drain the tank some and clean the areas with vinegar, and just keep rinsing with a clean rag to get the residue off.The suction cups can be cleaned in dish soap just be sure to rinse really well.

Thanks for your help, Majerah!
I also had half of their old rocks in the new tank. Should I ditch those? |

If you cleaned them well then they should be fine.
