Default help needed

hi couple days ago, i removed the activated carbon from filter and left it in dry place. today, i went back to put it back. i wash it before putting it back and found it is soapy. is it normal. sould it put it back or buy new. its fresh water tank.

if it's foaming that is normal, but it's always good to replace it every now and then.

If you haven't put soap on it or believe that no soap has gotten on it, then this is what Kris said. It's just the carbon re-activating.

Carbon needs to be replaced about once a month; if your carbon isn't old and you don't think soap has touched it, then it's fine to put back in your tank.
