Hi everyone!! So I was given a 29 gallon long tank about 6 months ago stocked with fish, live plants and "live" gravel. The tank has done extremely well. No problems at all with water chemistry, and little to no maintenance other than regular water changes. However, my light, a Coralife Aqualight Dual Linear Strip T5 Aquarium Lighting Fixture, 2X28 Watt, 48 inch, recently went out and I'm borrowing a friend's while I shop for a new one.
His light has one white light and one night time LED blue light. My plants have been looking rather weak and wrinkled, so I think I should buy a light more like the one I had, without the LED. I'm a college student and want to keep the cost down, but don't mind spending a little bit more if it's worth it. My tank has quite a few plants, but is not necessarily heavily planted. It is placed perpendicular to a sliding glass door but gets less light than normal now that it's winter. Does anyone have a suggestion on a light that will be adequate for my plants and still under $100?? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!! |

If you have $100 to spend on lighting just go to Amazon and browse the lights there. There are plenty of great deals on new lights all over the internet. A 30" light is pretty cheap online.
