I found an ad on Craigslist that a lady had bought out a pet store a few months back and is now selling some stuff. I went to check out what she had.

Ended up getting 24 Hagen Elite 799 Air Pumps for $33 and two Red Sea Co2 Biocanister kits for $4.

Also think I am going to get a 9 Tank stand with 9 15 gal tanks, with lights, gravel and hoods for $150.

The filters will work awesome to power our sponge filters on our shrimp tanks. I hope my shrimp partner Ok's buying the 9 tank setup, if so we will be breeding TONS of red cherry shrimp!

Thanks! I thought so too! I wish I would have been there earlier and got the heaters she sold.

The 9 tanks were all on a constant waterflow, did they do this with a sump setup? Is this expensive to setup?

depends.

If the tanks were inline and interconnected, all you would really have to do is pump water from one tank at the end to the tank at the other end.

But if you want to hide heaters, dosers, filters and whatever , the the last tank would drain to a hidden sump and the sump pump return water to the other end.

the tank would also have to effectively run down hill to all drain properly.

If not setup correctly it could be a flood waiting to happen. Especially if one of the tank to tank drains fail (plugs). The water from the down stream tanks would be pumped to the up stream tanks creating a flood. Perhaps the fishies could take a course in ark building .

But then that is just my specualtion based upon how I immage the setup.

So it's worth at most

Thanks for your input!, That is exactly how they were setup. I think I have rulled out the constant flow setup as I feel I would probably lose a lot of shrimp with this method as well.

As far as the Beaslbob tank, it is doing well thank you. It's basically just a holding tank for all my trimmings and propigations. Nothing special but serving it's purpose well!
