Default Getting everything in order

to set up a teeny aquarium. For the last couple of weeks I've been looking online at setups and equipment, and going around to fish shops to discover what's available to me and where the good ones are, and have decided that I want to set up a Fluval Edge. It's so pretty! I've seen the new Fluval rimless tanks, but I don't care for them. I'd actually go for a 15-24 gallon rimless of some sort, but I think the cost would be prohibitive for me right now.

Next best thing is this little box, and I want to make a good go of it. One thing I've noticed, however, is the screen over the lights usually has rust if it's been running for a while.

My question is: could I coat that with some silicone spray or something?

Hmm... I don't see why not as long as you let it dry before you put it anywhere near your tank and be careful not to drop it in? Sorry if I wasn't too helpful

I will look further into this. I'm not even close to putting water in the tank yet, so I have time to get it ready.

You might consider taking the screen to a place that powder-coats. Wouldn't cost that much and the coating is aquarium safe.
