the driftwood is leaking tannis, it is not harmfull to fish or plants at all, it will go away with time and water changes, if you want to speed up the process, take it back out, boil it for a few hours, then soak it in a bucket and change water everother day till its not leaking tannis and turning your water brown

Carbon will remove tannins. It will depend though on how much tannins is leaching from the wood, too much and the carbon just cant keep up

Since tannins are a natural product and doesn't harm the fish in anyway, it's really no big deal. But, if your not liking the color of it in your aquarium, then either --

A) Take it out and soak it for a good few months or more (Change water in bucket when too brown) or until the brown/yellow stops appearing. Once the "stops", boil it and add it back to the aquarium

B) As suggested from above, add a pouch of Carbon into the aquarium. It will soak up a lot of the tannins. Though this is not a permanent solution.

C) Or just let it do it's thing and don't mess with it. If you can deal with it and the patience of time, the coloring will eventually go away. It may take up to 5-6 months, maybe a year or two until it's done leaching out tannins (Depends on size), but it's worth it at the end and way less work than to two above. Personally I think it makes the aquarium more natural, especially if it's planted.

Tannins themselves are harmless but they do drop PH, some fish are suited to that, some are not. So it can be a big deal in the wrong setting

There are really only 2 options when it comes to Tannins discoloring your water.
1. Deal with the tannins via frequent water changes and add carbon to your filter.
2. Soak the driftwood in a bucket and change out the water frequently until to discoloration subsides then place it in your tank.
Other than that there is not a whole lot you can do.
