Hey Y'all,
I just tore down my 29 gal for a rebuild. To prevent red algae from coming bak should I not replace my potted plants. I fear my potted plants may contain the red algae I am hoping to get rid of. Should I avoid putting them back - should I replace Them with new ones?? I need to avoid the red algae. Please advise.

if anything you need to add more plants especially fast growers like anacharis and vals.

You need plants to consume the nutrients and starve the algae.

Get the plants thriving then if the algae comes back kill the lights and stop feeding until the algae dies off. Then resume with less lighting and feeding so the plants thrive and the algae stays away.
