Edit, these are chips. Not cracks. Chipped glass out of the corner of one pane of glass.
Picked up a tank today that the po swore holds water (and it does) but I'm concerned how long it'll hold water? See if these pics make sense. There is a *crack* in the long pane of glass at the corner near the top. This pic is the hole, that has been filled with silicone. Same crack different angle. While this pic seems to show a "hole" there is no hole. Second crack, not as big as such not filled with silicone and gives a better idea of what happneed. This crack is located 6" lower than the first. Another concern is the silicone on the inside corners is missing. Large agressive used to be in this tank so I'm assuming the fish slowly pulled the inside silicone off. This pic is from the inside looking down at one of the corners. All of them look like this. This is it full of water in my garage. The guy broke the tank down 6 months ago, said it did not leak and he's never had any issue. He even let me bring it home to fill it with water to verify it was good. Questions: Should I be concerned about these cracks? Are they deal breakers? This tank will go into my apartment, and that's enough water to probably lay down 2" of water throughout the entire place! haha..

How big are the cracks, and where are they? I can't tell from the pictures. But if the big crack is close to the top, then it should be ok, just go over the cracks and make sure the tank is all sealed up with silicone. Go all over the seams with silicone...On the other hand, you might want to get renter's insurance or whatever it is called just in case

I took the pics while tank was in the back of the truck, and now it's full of water with the crack facing the wall. Zbummer.
In the 1st pic, you can see the wood trim of the top of the tank. So it's within the top 4" of the tank. The 1st and 2nd pic are of the same spot, diffenet angle. the 2nd pic you can see it is the depth of the side pane glass.

See if these help. Again these two pics are of the same spot, diffenet angle.
Here you can see the shadown of how deep the chip is. The side pane is ~ 1/2" thick, and you see here the chip is almost as deep as the side pane glass thickness.

Bumping one more time. I decide tomorrow if I wish to keep this tank or not. So far the consciences is these two chips won't be an issue, but re-silicone the inside corners.
Please let me know your opinions! Thanks,
