My father got me a new 55g aquarium for Christmas. I can not set it up where I am currently living, but I have a concern about when I do.
The glass on the ends sticks out just a couple of mm (3-5mm depending on side). It is the front panel sticking out past the ends. I did have the aquarium full just to check for leaks or anything of the like, and it seemed fine. It sticks out on the top on one end and on the bottom on the other, meaning it is even on the top on one side and the bottom on the other as well. Will this cause the water to be uneven causing tank damage? If it is uneven would it be fine if I just leveled it out by shimmying something under the stand? The tank is a Walmart brand, with the centre brace on the top and bottom. I don't really think this should matter a whole lot, as the person we got it from had it set up for quite a while, long enough for an oscar to become full grown, with no problems. Just don't want the tank to blow out in my new apartment when we move. The tank was a steal, it came with a Fluval 304, a stand, a heater, a brand new unopened Aqua-Tech 30-60, gravel, and decorative rocks for under $200 CAD, so if this will be a problem the value of everything I got greatly outweighs the value of a faulty tank. Just looking for a second opinion before I end up setting it up. Thanks guys, I hope this forum is as good as the one I used to go to (WaterWolves) which seems to be dying slowly. Cheers, Curtis |

i would say that it isnt the tank thats faulty but rather the stand itself!...just make sure it seems sturdy enough to hanle the weight of that size of tank!....if that seems fine than just level it out urself! thats not a big deal! GOOD LUCK! and remember PATIENCE IS KEY!!!..
