Question Compatable with Balas?

Im sure ive asked this question before...
BUT we just bought our new tank and now can put our Bala in it that was in our 36 gallon (After the tank cycles that is) We do plan on getting a couple more Balas, but I also want something else in there with them.

Any suggestions? Do they get along with Rams? They are very pretty and seem peacefull and Ive always wanted them, and now may have a tank for it.
If not, any other good tank mates ?

Thanks in advance!!!

well to begin with, the tank isn't big enough. They need at least a 75 gal tank. They get 12 inches and like a lot of swimming room. Other than that they get along with most fish that are bigger than what can fit into their mouth.

I know how big he gets, and i know how big of a tank he needs. Thats why we bought the 75 gallon last night. People make mistakes with fish. He was one we've had for along time and the lfs didnt tell us his needs and stuff when we bought him. BUT we know now.

We may put 5 Bleeding heart tetras in with him when the tank is cycled. Theyre in my 29 gallon with other tetras but they have gotten so big that I think they are crowded lol

yeah bought a 75 gallon. We originally had planned on a 100-120gl. But we cant buy that right now. So we are just going to upgrade he 36 to a 75. Moreso for the Balas. Were thinking of putting our Platys in there as well. Our Bala and Platys get along so well
