I have fine gravle (as seen in picture) and my tank is really cloudy (as seen in picture), im wondering if the type of gravle i have is effecting the cloudyness.
I have a clean fliter in it, water changes weekly. Will bigger rocks make my tank less cloudy? if so how would be the best way to change out my tanks beding? |

Oh one more thing that i think might be a factor; i have no real plants. But i dont know if plants would help with clearity?
Are plants a necessity for a tank? |

Cloudiness is usually the result of a Bacteria Bloom To see if the cloudinees is the result of your gravel, add some of your gravel (no aquarium water) to a clear, tall container, filled with Distilled Water and agitate the mixture. If your gravel is not the cause of your cloudiness, the water should clear quickly. Inspect your aquariim and make sure you don't have deomposing organic matter (dead fish, fish food) in it. Feed lightly until the cloudiness goes away. Make sure you have lots of aeriation going on.

Bacteria blooms are pretty normal in a new tank.Waterchanges can help but you will have to let the filter cycle.Removing the pad and adding a new one will cause a small cycle so its best to always rinse the old one,or put the new one in and either have the old one in the filter or in the tank,to help out.
Did you rinse the gravel well?If you just tossed it in it will cause cloudy water as well.
