Default Ceramic rings

I'm back with another filter question. This one is a long shot, but considering lots of options.
Is it possible to replace the bio bags in a Whisper 60 with ceramic rings to creat an all biological filter?
I have looked all over the net & this forum & could not find any info.

Yes but I recoment Ehime substrait. It is small ceramic balls that look like Coco Puffs.

We fabricate our own media pouches all the time. I use mesh filter bags (about $0.25 from PetsMart), and raw bulk ceramic bio-media that normally gets dumped into a container in a canister filter. I use the Eheim Ecco Substrat stuff, but the rings would be fine as well. Just be sure to rinse them!

Bulk carbon, and bulk filter floss can both be used as well, to save you some $$$

Thanx for the info on using these. I wasn't sure it was possible, but trying to save $$ & possibly keep this filter. Am going to try the Eheim substrait.
