I just ordered a brine shrimp kit and was wondering if anyone knew what type of lamp to put on them is best? Just a regular reading lamp? What kind of bulb would be best?

I bought a reading lamp at K-Mart for $12 that has articulating arm and a 25 watt halogen bulb, you can position light pretty much any angle you want. Another breeder told me he puts hatchery next to his window and uses natural light and doesn't see any difference in hatches and they are on normal daily cycle. My fishroom window is not in the best spot for me to do this, so I bought the small reading lamp. I want to add that I am a total novice at hatching BBS myself, so that is about all I can tell you! Good luck!

I'm thehatch by the light of the window guy - when I had a windowless room, I used a little night light. It worked fine.

One of those little $5 goose neck lamps from Wally world with a small 25 or 40 watt incadescent bulb is a good choice . The heat from the lamp is what you probably need to warm up your shrimp. It works for me.
