breeding black mollies
i wanted to start breeding black mollies because it seemed fun and i was wondering if i could use a 10 gallon to do so..also, i dont know anything about telling the difference between a male or female but i do know females should out number males 2 to1 ..if a 10 gallon is ok how many mollies can i start with and how many can i have in the tank
 oh and 1 more thing.. do they need brackish water because i heard they do?

A 10g would be good to grow the fry in, or for a place for the female to drop the fry and then remove her. I think you should think about what you're going to do with a ton of babies first. A Molly can drop 50+ fry. 2 Adults and 50 fry and your tank is overtsocked. You have to have a plan beyond the coolness of growing young fish or you just have a disaster waiting to happen.

i was gonna give my friend some and i know this is stupid but my buddy wanted some of the fry to feed to his fish so i should be ok
