Bological filter media
Anybody out there ever use Hydro-balls (lightweight expanded clay substrate), or lava rock for biological filtration in a canister filter? The Hydro-balls looks very similar to several types of media i've seen, both were reccomended as a cheap alternative to other media. Would either have a negative effect on PH? thanks, steve.
