Default Blood parrots spawning?

I was trying to figure out what the hell they were doing, digging pits and holes. They keep a log and a hollow tree decoration for their choice of hiding, but they dug out the bottom all the way to the glass. When I looked it up, it says it's spawning behavior. I haven't seen any eggs yet, but it's difficult to see back there. They're the bullies of the tank, picking on my bala's and chasing my blue lobster every chance they get, so I'm fairly sure that won't be an issue, but will they become agressive to the point where they'll attack others violently?

my parents have four blood parrot cichlids, and they are always spawning. they have seen them lay eggs several times, and fiercely guard them. so far, none have ever hatched. usualy they dont, since blood parrots are a hybrid fish. the eggs usualy dont hatch, but every once in a while someone gets lucky and they do.

Yeah, they're always laying eggs, and guarding them fiercly. There are larger fish in with them now, so they can't do a whole lot. I saw them poking at the bala shark 3x their size, but nothing came of it.

After reading these posts, I am a little excited! I thought the chances were slim to none that the eggs would be fertilized. I am two over stocked I think, I have a 55 gallon tank, I started with three parrots. When my oldest died, the two small ones left went into hiding. They had been very brave and social with the big one two lead. I rescued two from somenone not wanting them. This gave me four that continued to hide. I started believing it was true, they were afraid, whatever got the well being leader might get them, so after 4 months, I decided to get another. He was a brave little soul, the other four felt safe again, and do I have some great personalities, swimming like little Parrots!! Everywhere! Joy Joy Joy!! Oh gosh, if I got tiny babies, it would be Joy 10Xs.
