So, I rehomed my kuhlies, and got a zebra loach. Is the zebra a problem?

10 gallons is pretty small for a single zebra loach (in fact for any loach, I think), and as with many loaches, they don't like to be kept alone - most sites recommend a group of at least 5, which you definitely should not do in 10 gallons. Also, for most (all?) loaches, you need to have a substrate of smooth gravel or sand so that their barbels aren't damaged.
In general, it's always a good idea to research THEN buy, rather than the other way around. |

I posted pretty much exactly what Suzanne said, in your thread about the possibility of the loach being sick.
Please, please, please research any fish before you bring them home. The tank size requirements, the adult size the fish will reach and if it needs to be in groups or not.
