Best air pump???

Hi, I'm giving my 125g a much needed upgrade. New LED lights, canister filter, plants and whatever else looks good. My question is about an air pump. What's a good, long lasting pump for a big tank? Now I realize it doesn't have to have bubbles but I kinda like 'em so... Anyhoo, any good luck stories (bad luck too) out there?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Best air pump???

I've use Supreme pump for years and they last years. The are silent and have huge capasity. If you're sure you just want this for one 120 gal tank than a AP 20 will do, but I would go with an AP 40. The good thing about going the AP40 is if you want to add tanks are need extra capacity, say meds or an enviro mess up, this thing has the power. I have 4 of these, 2- AP 40s & 2- AP 100. One of each together run 60 tanks from 10s-55s. In the summer, my spare AP100 runs 5 kiddie pools and 4 livestock Vats.

Thanks henningc, you've given me a lot to think about. 60 tanks! Wow, that's a lot of tanks. Lots of fish too I'm sure. Sounds like you're a breeder maybe? Anyhoo, I don't know if I'll ever get more tanks (Actually, I did have 3 a while back and wanted a better air supply so...) but it's good to know there are pumps out there worth having. I'm going to seriously consider an AP-40. You just never know. Come to think of it I've got grandbabies who need kiddie pools too. Um, what do you do in kiddie pools, Bubbles?

Thanks

20 Endlers in a 6'x6' are larger kiddie pool will drive the grandkids crazy. I raise Endlers like this each summer and it is nothing to end up with several hundred. I have a number of folks that buy all males for their display tanks-think a 55gal with 100 males.
