My female sword that passed away about three months ago had given birth to about 20-30 fry. She died about 3 days later and only one fry survived. NOw i have only one male and female sword. The male is the father. The baby is about 2/3 the sixze of dad but i swear she has a swollen belly and the black spot indicating pregnacy... But can a 3 month old female become pregnant and would fish interbreed between the father and his offspring.
This is gonna sound weird but one my guppies is constantly swimming with her. He doesnt nip or pester her but he is constantly by her side wherever she goes. Can guppies ans swords mate. I know its a weird ? but i have had this happen before with another guppy and female sword. |

3 mos is right when they start getting fertile, and unfortunately, the fish don't keep very good track of their family trees. The father probably got her pregnant. She probably won't have very many babies since she is so small, if she actually bears them at all. She may reabsorb them, but she'll end up pregnant again with a male fish in the tank.
