well more than 12 months ago my brother went to the fair with his little daughter and there she won a small goldfish in one of the games....
![]() well he dint put much thought into it and just put it in the bowl they game him in the kitchen and bought some goldfish flakes. he figured it would die in like a week since it was probably a cheap feeder fish. i rarely go to his house and today i went, i ask him about the fish, expecting that it died months ago, but no he told be, "its in the kitchen" ![]() wow its true, the fish is still alive after more than a year :O and its HUGE kinda outgrew the bowl lol. my brother wont buy it a proper tank as he is not into it, and he just kept this one cause it lived. i did a water change and i gotta say it was the quickest water change ive ever done! well so much for the 1 inch per gallon rule... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

That poor fish. He's going to get even bigger than that; you might want to make it perfectly clear to your brother that that's essentially cruelty to animals, and if he cannot take proper care of it, he should relinquish it to someone who can.

My tank is full and I don't know anyone else who would take it. Will a pet store take it?

Most pet stores will be more than willing to take in a fish. They may not give you anything for it, but at least it'll be in a better environment.

I gotta agree, that poor fish needs a new home. You can place an ad for him on craigs list,or even go to a golf course.they wave water hazards and Many will even have goldfish or koi already there. He needs social interaction by other goldfish.
And Like scuff said,a fish store would most likely take him in.

I'm not for it, but they have managed t keep it alive for a year. Something to be said for that at least. Bowl looks pretty clean.

I think they must have been doing something right for the fish to still be alive. Goldfish are some tough fish but you can also tell it's gills were swollen and red from ammonia burns. Glad it's got a new home!
