frags are coral. frag is just short for fragment. people fragment coral into pieces to sell or share what they have with out giving it up. Coral are live and require food. You need certain trace elements like calcium and iodine as examples. Most are photosynthetic and get nourishment through photosynthesis which is why you need good lighting. Some just require small frozen or live things like brine shrimp or mysis, others are filter eaters and need plankton. Some corals require both. I found that typing the name of the coral in google then typing the word "care" after will tell you exactly how to feed the coral of choice plus will tell you light and flow requirements as well as if they are poisonous when damaged or if they sting other corals or fish. Hope this helps!
