Default BTA Help...

HI everyone, I am hoping somone out there can help me out with this. I bought a BTA a little over a week ago and have issue's with it since I got it home and in my tank. It looked great to start with and then the first night immediately started exploring but it took the dark places/holes in the rock (tank has a set up with several caves that get no light) and it has not come out for over a week. it kept moving every day (mind you it was picking dark/no flow spots) to where i was unable to reach it and it had its foot on more than 1 rock so i could not move him myself safely. Tonight, it finally came forward enough that i was able to flip over the rock it was on so it is facing the light and i could finally feed it. Needless to say, it wouldnt take the shrimp and it looks terrible. the tips are almost all retracted and some look stringy on the ends (no strings coming from the mouth). Any idea's as to what is wrong with my BTA or if it is on the verge of dying? I have never had a BTA before and have not been able to locate a picture to try and dx the issue on my own, so here are some pictures to give you an idea. any idea's/comments any one has i would greatly appriciate!!

you gotta leave em alone. They will go where they want to go. Don't worry about feeding him for a couple weeks, until he gets acclimated to your tank. What are your water parameters?
Ammonia? Nitrite? Nitrate? Phosphate level? Lighting? Flow?
