Default Newbie Question

Hey all,

I'm a complete newbie when it comes to live plants, but I picked up some anacharis and a moss ball from the LFS not really knowing a thing about either, I just figured they would be easy to keep and hopefully help with my tank. In another post SusanKat mentioned nutrients for plants. To save from hijacking that thread from the op I figured I'd ask here, how would I go about feeding the plants these nutrients? Are there some kind of liquid nutrients I can poor into the water or something like that?

I'll be getting an air pump too to help with the CO2 at night, but for care and growth of live plants I'm just a complete newbie so any suggestions on these two plant types would be helpful. At least from what I've found on the net they're durable ones.

Hi i have both of these plants in my aquarium and you dont need to add any nutrients to the water as their will be enough produced by the fish to keep them healthy, these plants are low maintenence and you really dont need to do alot to keep them in good health.

Thank you, I was going to pick up some stuff today after work, but if they'll survive on the fish then that's great. The LFS didn't have much of a selection but I figured the moss would be easy and took a gamble on the anacharis.

the anacharis is actually a good fast growing plant with good oxygenation properties.

On my tank I have found that some peat moss in the substrate helps keep kh and gh (hardness) from increasing over time. And therefore I consider almost necessary for neon tetras.

But then I don't do any water changes, have any mechanical circulation or filters, and don't dose co2 either.
