Hello all,
I have a 75 gallon tank with dimensions around 48" long, 24" high, by 16" deep. I have had the tank running for a number of years with assorted tropicals. I have now added flourite to the substrate(wow what a job that was), and would like to start a planted tank. I recently aquired a 4 light t8 flourecent canopy, but it just came with regular household bulbs. My question is what mixture of bulbs to put in the fixture to get a good mix for plants as well as fish coloring? (Have not purchased any plants yet) Thank you in advance for your time. |

You don't need a mixture. I would just go to Lowes/HD/Walmart and get some 6500k bulbs. 4 bulbs on there will work great for most medium light requirement plants. My kid has something similar on his 75g.
If you don't like the 6500k you can go with the 10000k if they are available. Just stay within that range. |
