Default Got my 3 gallon back from the gf, what should I do with it?

I'd like to breed shrimp in it since it's pretty much designed for that purpose (UGF and LOTS of plants). Question is - should I put a swimmer or two in there? I have a single male feeder guppy I'm going to add when I get home (he's about 0.5"), and I'll give him away when he gets big enough to munch on the babies, but is there anything else I could/should put in that would complement the RCS?

Thanks!

Not really, you can try a betta, but I don't know how well they do with shrimp.

From experience... if you want to breed shrimp, don't have fish in the tank.

I had a 10g with 20 Cherry Red shrimp and 16 Black Diamond shrimp, and not one of them would breed, because I had some guppies, cardinals, rasboras and frogs in with them. It doesn't matter if it's a docile fish like an Oto, the shrimp see it as a potential predator and don't breed.

You could maybe try a snail or two..... just speaking from my own experience... maybe someone on here has bred them with fish in the tank.... but everyone I've spoken to gave me the same answer for why they wouldn't breed - the fish!

I don't recommend putting your betta in with any shrimp. My halfmoon betta loves snacking on them, and I've come home many times catching him with half a shrimp in his mouth.

I have had no trouble with my shrimp or Betta how ever if the shrimp are smaller than the Betta they may get eaten.
