I just finished setting up my 29 gallon 'rescue tank' into my second freshwater planted tank. I plan initially to have this tank run on low lights with no CO2 injection (I plan to dose with Flourish Excel instead).
My question is I have 2 'Balanced or Full Spectrum' lights with 18 watts each ( one actually has a high setting for 27 watts) that I would like to use with this tank and I wonder if the almost like true daylight emitted by these lights will suffice for plant growth?
I welcome any advice and information -

Most plants do fine under 5500K light, and 6500k is regular daylight. You can go up from that, but it's not needed. I've got my plants under 10,000k (full=spectrum) and they seem to be doing fine.
