Mods and administrators, can you remove the spam regarding Nike shoes? It looks like they've hit almost every forum.

Wow! I never thought that an aquarium forum like this one would be spammed by Nike Shoes stuff. Has this always happened before in the past? Do people get banned? or get a warning?

Most bot spammers will hit any kind forum doesn't matter if its fish related or not. They don't get warnings as most won't look at them so we just ban them with no second chance.

Forums like this are targets because we have a lot of younger people who are members and they feel the young will order without questioning them. It is so nice that you all are so smart that you do not fall for their nonsense. You are to be congratulated on how quickly this was reported and dealt with. It helps the moderators and Administrators a lot as we unfortunately cannot be everywhere at one time and when you report things that look strange to you it helps us to keep this kind of activity down. It may be the job of the staff but you really help when you find something if you turn it in instead of ignoring it. Thank you all for helping. Susankat did a marvelous job of getting the posts off the forum and the group responsible for posting them were banned permanently so they will not be back.

Yeah I agree

It's great that this forum is very watchful for nonsense like those. So then Susankat must've been devoting a lot of her time to deleting all of the posts, and permanently banning all of the members/groups who did all of this. Maybe if this forum had more moderators and administrators, then this website would be so much better

So do moderators and administrators get to ban people both for a while and permanently? or do Admins get to ban people permanently and moderators can't? I've been wondering about this for a long time xD it's something that I have never been able to figure out really. I've just got an inquisitive mind xD Sorry about the questions that seem "nosy"

Only Administrators can ban, which is the way several of us like it, like me I don't want that power. But while I was deleting the posts Jim jumped in and banned the IP address. Usually the ban is permanent as with person like these it will always be the same.

All the posts came from 1 IP address so that didn't take to long.

I only spent about 15 minutes if that much deleting all the posts.
