Many thanks for the kind thoughts folks. Our power here in Ct was off for about 50 (+-) hours - it still might go out again, but I've got my fingers crossed. We expected at least a week. We're in a semi-rural area, and hundreds of trees hit the lines just about everywhere. Lots of roads are still closed, and there's only one way out of here. Our 90G Walstad tank did fine with no power - the rainbows remained frisky through the whole experience and suffered no ill effects. I didn't even use the air pumps I bought. You might say I was a Beaslbob follower for a couple of days.

We lived in the Catskills for five years, and our old neighborhood has been taking catastrophic flood damage from the storm - our thoughts go out to those in NY and Vermont and elsewhere who are still facing a disastrous situation. We know only too well what it's like to experience a horrific flood.

All we really lost here was some frozen food. We consider ourselves lucky. If we've learned anything from this, it's to be prepared. We're keeping all the bottled water and supplies we bought and making up a stash for emergencies. Trying to find what you need right before a big weather event can be next to impossible, and there's been some serious price gouging on Craigslist, etc. Again, thanks for the kind thoughts.
