An oscar will try to eat anything
The pleco was almost the size of the oscar. Once in the mouth head first the spines would have killed the oscar anyway trying to remove it. In the end both fish died.

wow, thats almost hillarious seeing an oscar with somthing that big in its mouth, but sorry to hear it, the oscar looked beautiful
how big were both fish?

The oscar was full grown at 12 or 13 inches. And the plec was about the same size.
