Default If you keep fish, can you eat fish?

Interesting question, but I've come to realize that I can't actually eat fish now...not that I liked fish before, but now I just imagine the fishies swimming all happy in a tank...and then imagine my own fish on the dinner plate. I just can't do it. I did try crab the other day though, but I probably won't eat it again. And shrimp are just too cute for me to eat.

What about the rest of ya'll?

I've never been a big fish eater......I like tuna, and halibut and haddock that you get a fish n' chips places, but that's it.

Hate salmon, don't like shrimp, never tried lobster, not a big scallop person, refuse to slurp muscles off a shell... * shudder. Tried a piece of King Crab once....it was good. But, it's just too scary looking! My sister LOVES sea food and I hate going to buffets with her, cause she gets crab legs and the tendons stick out of them and it grosses me out! XD

Generally, 'if it's from the sea, it's not for me.' I did have some home cooked battered bass or pike that a neigbour at the cottage made once, and that was good.

from a river, from a lake or from the sea throw it on a plate and pass it to me. I love all kinds of fish, lobster, crabs, even tried shark steaks once. favorite is raw clams with a little hotsauce /butter dipping sauce and a few Molson Canadians. mmmmmm

I could literally live off of fish, and just about any other kind of sea food. I love the fish in my tank and all, but i'm not giving up on eating the other water dwellers just yet.

The fish place. Workers are a little arrogant but they have the best stuff. I also live in north tonawanda so it's down the street. Saltwater paradise is awesome too just salty stuff though how about you

I used to love Fish, but I made a promise to my happy little fishies for the joy that they have given me.

No problem. I love fish and shell fish. Considering some of my fish have gobbled up their tank mates (or babies of tank mates) I don't think I should have to give up eating fish when clearly they haven't. :-D

Oh yea the fish place is nice, niagara aquarium on military in kenmore is nice too. down here we have marks country store, very limited items, if i want something special I need to go up to OP, or closer to you. I'm hoping to find a nice place closer to home, I try to spend my money locally or at least locally owned bussiness, I'll drive way past a petsmart to go to a local LFS.

i'll eat pretty much any seafood you give me aside from escargot (tried it once) and bluefish. Everything else is fair game including calamari and the likes (it is actually pretty damn tasty).

If I could have a tank to breed perch I would run it like a cattle farm out of my room! Love eating, Catching, and Having Fish. And I would never eat a cichlid so it doesn't bother me.

I love to keep fish, catch fish, and eat fish.
sitting on the bank at night catfishing is a real good time and there is no better way to waste time in the spring than dangling a minnow in front of a crappies face.
I live realatively close to western lake erie, which is a fantastic perch and walleye fishery. Nothing like a fresh batch of yellow perch or a big fat walleye fillet.

YES!

I like muscles though, and scallops. I like squid and octopus too. Just not the actual fish from the ocean.

I'm afraid to say that I do and will eat fish. I don't eat industrial beef and I'm in the process of stopping other kids of industrial meat, also, so that leaves me with little options. I don't eat it regularly but on occasion I eat farm tilapia and on rare occasion salmon. My only real concern is how food animals are killed. Chickens have it the worst, not that cows and pigs have it much better.

I think that's a problem. Also I think the way many if not most food fish are killed is inhumane. There is scientific evidence fish feel the same pain as warm blooded vertebrates, if not proof. (It's very easy to dismiss this notion because fish generally don't make noises we can hear) They should be killed humanely.

Apart from that, you should see what they put in livestock (including seafood such as some farmed shrimp and fish) to make it cheaper but still 'edible'. Often laden with hormones and antibiotics. Then we wonder why certain health problems are on the rise.

And that I why the only beef I will eat is from cows that my family raises on our own pastures, and slaughters humanely. I'd prefer all my meat to be that way, but unfortunately, not possibly in a society like the US has

I'll eat almost anything. Fish, frog, deer, alligator .... I have one rule about most of it though - you should be willing to catch/kill, clean and cook it yourself. Obviously this isn't always an option, but if the thought repulses you, you probably shouldn't eat it. The odd part, some of my favorite animals in general are also my favorite to eat.
