When you have a plan for adding plants or fixing up the tank, but it's too late to start that night, so you're stuck anticipating. It's annoying. Especially when the plants in question are right there next to the tank. Mocking you and your need for sleep, which you can't get because you're thinking about needing sleep but still really wanting to mess around. And then being annoyed that that new light you bought doesn't fit (I have no idea why a fixture that's made for 15 watts has, and only works with, a 10-year old, 25 watt bulb) And then wondering when/where your new fish will come from, and what kind of personality it will have and what it will look like and so on. (random question, female bettas are less aggressive, right?)
Anyways, sorry about ranting, but couldn't sleep thanks to all that stuff up there. ![]() |

That happens all the time... thing is... I don't care what time it is, I just start messing with the tanks as long as I don't have to be at work early the next morning, hahaha.

And now its the "waiting to get someplace so I can go rescue-er I mean adopt a new betta" time.
But I really did try and save a betta at walmart today. It was a female in about half an inch of water, and the only betta there. I couldn't really do anything huge, but I did fill her little bowl. Hope she made it...She was pretty. My walmart is doing something odd. They supposedly shut down their fish department ages ago and the lights are always off, but still had feeders and a few fancy goldfish. Now they don't even have those, but at least 1-3 plecos in each tank. Is anywhere else doing this? |

What did you fill it with? Fountain water? Poor fishy!
Our Walmart stopped selling fish a few years ago, and hamsters many many many years ago!

your walmart sold hamsters Holly? lol the ones around here never did. At one point, years ago, the quality of fish was actually decent, believe it or not. Better than what I saw at Petco and Petsmart at least. Ahh the good old days of long ego.
There was a small tap labeled system water in the sink area, which I was assuming meant from the tank system, and while there might have been dead fish in the tanks, there weren't too many fish total and most of the tanks were empty, so I assumed that it would be ok. I would've used regular tap water too, but it was easier to get to the system water since there were a bunch of boxes in the sink. |
