As a man I don't usually go to malls and places like that unless I want to kill myself but today I went to a new LFS that just opened last week and it was supposed to open at 11:00am. So stupid me goes there thinking it will open at 11:00 like it is supposed to do. I am standing there at the door and there is no one inside and it is 23 degrees out. I then notice a mall across the street. I figure while I am waiting I will go and get my wife an addition to her Christmas present. This mall used to be (I think) the largest mall in the world, like you need a mall that big. So I figure I will go there and when I get out the LFS will be open. I go in the mall and end up in a store called New York & Company. It figures being I am in NY, I went there because there was only one person on line, thats how I shop, where there is no line, that is the only place I will go, and being I only do this once every few years, I go in. (If I see someone at the pump at a gas station, I don't get gas that day.)
I immediately see something I figure my wife will like on a dummy so I take the entire thing the dummy is wearing, the shirt, sweater, pants, scarf and jewelry. It looks good on the dummy so thats what I get. I run over to the counter where that same person is being waited on. She is talking about her kids, shopping, her husband, the weather, current events, Paris Hilton, recipies, etc. If I had a submarine I would have torpedoed her. While I was on line, and the only person on line, I saw a couple of other things I would have bought but I would not dare leave the register for fear I would lose my place. Now I am a New Yorker and New Yorkers are fast, but not fast enough for me, I want you to move and move fast or get out of my way. So now it's my turn and I get all excited. I just want her to throw the stuff in a box and let me out of there, but of course they have to take off those little things that prevent you from stealing the item, then they have to scan it and look through a catalog to see if it is on sale, then walk over to the rack to check who knows what, then she asked me if I wanted a credit card or if I wanted points or if I wanted her to punch a card or get me anything else. Just shoot me. I don't want to date her or her Mother, just get me out. See thats whats wrong with the economy. These stores would make a lot more money if they had seperate registers for men and women. The womens line could have couches, serve tea, talk about Oprah share stories about their kids etc and on the mens line they should have a gallows so we could hang ourselves while we are waiting to get out of there. The LFS was still closed when I finally left. ![]() |

Haha. I feel the same way. I don't understand how women can just chat and shoot the breeze on whatever subject they want.

she said "So how are his kids?" I said "I don't know" She said "So whats new with them?" I said "I don't know" My wife said "You were out for 7 hours fishing, what did you talk about"? I said "Fish" |

![]() I can't imagine her face after these words, but I'm sure she was shocked)))) Sometimes I really marvel how men can talk so many hours about fishing, or cars, or IT and etc. |

lol i totally agree...I'm someone who hates shopping more than absolutely necessary, and I have wasting time doing anything related to it like checking out. I was incredibly happy when stores around where i live added coffee shops, so i could dump my socialite friends and get on with business... unfortunately, then they wouldn't leave the store...

Now please dont Kill me for this. When i go shopping i have a rule when picking out a Cashier. Must be a Female and younger then common dirt. LOL, reason being is Men seem to be way to slow.. I dont know if its because we are in our own world or what.. but As a Man i know We suck at this job. Older women are slow and they talk to you and couldnt give a single **** if your in a hurry.... Now the really young girls are also slow but thats because they are new to this job and nervous... i look for someone Mid to late 20's with the least amount of distane on there face...normally they are the fast ones
Just my opinion... |

I have to go get something for my wife but I doubt I will be going to a mall. I hope to get my Daughter to do some of the shopping for me to give my wife. Girls like that sort of thing for some reason. And my wife doesn't even mind returning stuff. I just throw it away because if I buy something and I had to wait on line, there is nothing in the world that is going to get me back there.
I always said there should be two lines in a store, the one for men should just be a bucket where we throw in the money and walk out. We will throw in a little more to adjust for the tax and any other nonsence that they want to add because I really don't care what it costs me, as long as I can get out of there. If I didn't put enough money in the bucket you can just take it out of my credit card without asking me. ![]() Just don't bother me. Of course they should have a Supermodel holding the bucket so I can find it, but she should not say anything. Well not say anything about the store, she can tell me what a great looking man I am. Yes, she will have to know how to lie. ![]() |

I buy all my stuff online, generally. There are a few exceptions.
1) Fish (I like to see if they are healthy in the store, can't do that with a picture) 2) Food 3) When I need to run errands for my mom. It is cheaper, I don't get pissed when I can't find the item I am looking for, and it gets shipped to my door so I don't need to drive anywhere. A lot of people ask how I buy clothes like this because you can't try them on. I simply say well I know my size, and I am pretty sure a t-shirt uses the same material as most other t-shirts. |
