Default Camera Geeks

I am trading in my film camera stuff and they are giving me $100.00 which is better than throwing it out. So what do I buy. I am looking at around $400.00 and want something that I can screw filters on to the lenz. I was looking at a Canon Powershot SX20 12.1 MP digital.
The wide angle lenz is 20X wide angle optical zoom with Optical image stabilizer, 12.1 megapixels.
I am not a photographer but I need to take macro shots also. Can this camera do that or can I screw a close up lenz on it which I have.

Are there any other decent camera's for that price?
Thanks, I need to buy it on Monday in Manhattan

I would look at a digital SLR; witch I think you are, and make sure your current lenses will fit on the new body. Hopefully someone else will chime in, we have some great fish photographers here (I am not one of them). LoL

what you are looking for is referred to a prosumer camera.
i would highly suggest going with something by SONY. canon, also makes some good products, but unless you are going for a SLR, i would stick to sony. maybe something in the H series.
