Well the problem is the vast number of different brands and different designs; there's no telling HOW many different designs are out on the market for aquarium filter pumps.
Basing a new design off of any randomly selected model is not the right way to go about it. If you're serious about it, you need to do your homework and study up on fluid dynamics, basic impeller functioning, and basically research and learn about a whole slew of different water pumps on the market today (no necessarily pumps specific to aquariums either). Then you also need to research what materials can and cannot be used in aquarium systems, as you don't want to build the pump out of materials or plastics that are going to leach toxins into the water and harm/kill fish. I have a feeling this is harder than you're making it out to be. Research and develop ![]() |
