Hello,
Just recently had a case of dropsy invade my tank but i was able to stop the damage before it got to all my fish. I have a 20 Gallon long tank with my daughters and we are currently using a Fluval 30 filter with a 100w pro heater. After the unfortunate dropsy outbreak from what i can guess was a good bacteria die off because nitrItes spiked way up, we have 4 cory catfish, 1 yoyo loach, 8 amano shrimp, an African dwarf frog, and a male betta left. Thinking of letting things settle down a bit (want to make sure health of the rest is 100% and tank levels are back to normal) but once i can I was thinking of replacing what was lost with peacock gudgeons and/or celestial pearl danios. How many of each or even of just one fish type could i add and would it help the good bacteria colony if i had a bigger filter with larger bacteria medium in it?
