I moved to a different county back in May 2011 and started high school in a totally different school district. So I'm still adjusting and studying hard, and don't presently have any aquariums. But once I do, I'll be right back on this forum!

Here is our press release that went out last week.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New Website Provides Innovative Ideas and Community For Coral Enthusiasts

Colorado Springs, CO—The National Corral Registry Association (NCRA), created by Brent Burnham, plans on revolutionizing the way coral collectors and coral farmers buy and sell coral, as well as providing an exciting auction and forum for hobbyists through their website.

“We will be providing an invaluable service to hobbyists,” said Burnham “When someone buys an eye of coral at prices that can go as high as $1000 or more it is important to know the lineage of the coral you are purchasing and that it is authentic.”

Burnham says they will provide specific registration certificates with individual numbers that can be passed on with the corals as they are sold. This will help buyers know that they are getting what they paid for, and will protect coral farmers from someone trying to pass off a look-alike coral.

At this time, there is no other registry or protections like what NCRA offers.

The NCRA website will feature an auction where coral growers can showcase their corals and find interested buyers. Coral enthusiasts will be able to browse through hundreds of corals and know that when they do make a purchase that the coral is registered.

NCRA wants to create more discussion and community among the coral farmers, buyers, and hobbyists, and have included a bulletin board forum on their site just for this purpose. There will also be a private sections on the forum for coral farmers where they can discuss the more technical aspects of coral growing such as specific techniques and best practices.

“We are on the cutting edge of the coral collecting hobby,” said Burnham, “We want to take it to the next level and help it grow.”

Burnham said that they will feature a Farmer of the Month which they will spotlight on their website and will include a brief biography, information about the corals they grow, and their operation. This will provide more exposure for the farmer and help coral buyers make more informed buying decisions.

For more information on NCRA's coral registry process, or to learn more about NCRA please visit their website at My Website - Home.

We are currently having open enrollment for mother colonies. The website is taking a bit longer than anticipated due to the complexities of the auction site.
