Default My firt post

Hello everyone. Very excited to be here. Had fish when I was a kid, but not very succesfull at it. I've decided to take on the hobby again and started reading for the first time to make sure I knew what I was getting into, so now I know why there were so many "burials at sea" in my house! Hopefully I'll get it right this time.

Yeah. I already bought a tank and ordered a bunch of stuff online. Got a 29g tank with hood and light, it came with a filter (Tetra Whisper EX30) but I'm changing it for a bigger one (EX45), and with a heater, although I'm not sure I actually need it as I live in the Caribbean.

Heaters not only help with the warmth but keeping the temp level

Welcome!

Have you cycled the tank? That will help with the 'burials at sea.' You can search Nitrogen Cycle on here or google and it will help you understand the process.

Ok, I have officially od'ed my tank with amonia and have ended up somewhere between 4 and 8 ppm. I guess this cycling thing is going to take a while! Would it help if I added something like Nutrafin's Cycle?
