I am amazed that the sole survivors of my crash were 4 Killie tetras. Tough little fish.

Have completely dismantled the 44 g pentagonal tank, weak bleached, rinsed and air dried all plants, rocks, gravel, features and the external filter.

Plan to reassemble and cycle for 24 hrs, then introduce the Killies. After a week I will check the chemistry and consider restocking.

Thanks for your interest

Up Date

First things first, thank you all for your kind words. Here's where my tank is today:

Aquarium day 6
1-7-12

44 g pentagonal rebuild
established for over 5
years. Collapsed
following introduction of
a feature which had been
stored for years.

Lost 7 huge angels and a very
large pleco.

Tank went white, pH
dropped and
ammonia/nitrates rocketed.

Attempted water changes, bacterial,
pH, and salt
supplementation were futile in
spite of the use of ammo
carb in an external
filter.

Started over. Broke down
the set-up. Followed with weak
chlorine soak, multiple
rinses and air dry of all
features.

Fresh water, filter, added Neutral Regulator and
Microbe-Lift Special Blend.
Now up and cycling with original 4 Killie tetras doing well, tough little fish!
They survived the crash.

Added 4 cardinal tetras and an albino cory two days ago.
Also doing very well.

Any suggestions for additions to my population?

Now, for another 5 years of beauty....
