Default Hello

Hello everyone,

My name is Giampiero and I've recently decided to switch to a live plants aquarium. Since I'm a noob when it comes to plants I've decided to join an aquarium forums where I can share my ideas and learn from others. This is where you guys/girls come in.
Hopefully you'll go easy on me when I ask a stupid or obvious question.

Good day!

I didn't know where to put my first post therefore I just placed it here for the time being (Not very familiar with the site yet).

Can anyone help me identify what kind of plant this is?

It said to be illegal in Michigan, however I've researched all the plants that are prohibited/restricted by the Michigan DNR and DEQ with no results.

Hygro was the first thing that came to mind (because of the foliage configuration), but all the ones I've ever seen grow much taller than this. I've been keeping an eye on this plan for about 2 years at my local pet shop and I've never seen it grow tall. Instead the roots are always spreading out, not to mention its not translucent as a normal hygro.

Joining was a good idea. I learned by buying and buying plants till I got some that would live in my tank long term. Will it's nice to have an ever changing tank, it's also nice to have healthy plants that grow instead of shrink.
