Happy Hollandaise and Merry Fishmas!
and...that's chef humor. its lame to make them but they are so darn Pun-ny. ok. i'm done.
well i live in the DC metro area and i have 2 tanks. both freshwater. pics will follow when i can get em up. 29 gal peaceful schooling (over crowded; first tank - fish fever) - 4 x glass catfish - 5 x black neon tetra - 3 x albino cory cats - 1 x albino bristlenose pleco - 1 x dwarf gourami - 1 x powder blue dwarf gourami 20 gal semi-aggressive tank - 1 x green tiger barb - 2 x tiger barb - 1 opaline gourami - 1 x panda cory cat - 1 x false julii cory cat my opaline is about to pass though; he has a tumor/ growth on his left side. it has tripled in size in < a week, and hasn't eaten in as many days. it saddens me a lot i have had him for several months and he is still a juvenile.i have found a shop which specializes in rehabilitating sick or injured fish, and Wail (his right side markings seem to spell "wail") will be paying them a visit after the holidays. if he does pass though i will be moving my 2 dwarf gouramis to the 20 gal tank to reduce the "stress" from my larger tank. i say that but all on my fish in my large tank are happy and active. in fact one of my albino cats laid eggs all over the tank walls. most have been eaten or hatched and the fry are MIA or KIA which is fine with me b/c i don't need them.

I don't think it is a tumor it might be an infection or a parasite.
it has grown too fast. |
