Default Good Morning All,

Greetings to you all,

I'm a complete novice to this having just got my first tank a couple of weeks ago, and i must say i'm totally hooked already. So much so i have just bought and set up a second tank i bought off eBay.

I currently have an Aquaone 500 60ltr tank and the a more recent Aquamode 600 65ltr tank. I have a few questions which i will post later and also i will stick on a couple of photo's for you all to look at and offer any comments, help and advice you have.

Just a question or two for now is, any recommondations for suitable fish to have, what go well together etc etc, and also i got up this morning to find there was a small snail in my second aquamode tank which must have been hidden in the gravel. Any advice as to wether these things are helpful or a pest would be great....

In my original tank i have 4 platies 3 male , 1 female, and i think they are called rainbow guppy's (sorry can't quite remember their names) all male, i also had 4 flame tailed guppy's, but these seemed to attack/ nip at the female platty, so any advice offered would be great.

Many thanks for having a look here and get in touch, because i guess i will need some help sooner rather than later.

Ok going to stop now as i've waffled on long enough, i will post these questions in the forum also.

Thanks for reading :-)

You should probably get more females in your tanks. The males will ultimately chase the female until she is exhausted to death and/or the males will end up fighting over her.

You definately need more females. The right ratio is 2-3 females for each male.
