Default 125G Chemically in Balance

Hello Everone!
I am retired military and always had a freshwater fish tank, just mmoved up to a 125G and having a hard time keeping the water balance.

Have a question my bala sharks were very active and know they just stay still, my pike ciclid die also, trying to find out what could cause this?

Thank you Chris,

We need a little more information about you setup to help. What parameters are out of balance, pH, ammonia, nitrates, etc? Do you have live plants in your tank? What kind of lighting do you have? How heavily is the tank stocked with fish? How often do you do your water changes and how much? Tell us a little more about your setup and you routine and we can better help you and welcome to the forum!

The pH is low and the nitrates is high, my ammonia level was slightly acidict, but I was able to get it under control, but know I have another problem, I have ich/or whit spots it has taken over my tank and I am currently using heat to combat this have my tank up to 84 degrees but all my fish have this, As for light I have florescent, no live plants, was 3 clown loach, but down to 1, 2 bala sharks down to none, 1 pike ciclid gone too, a pleco, three cat fish 2 silver tip sharks, and on spotted catfish. My filter is aquaclear 110, also a rena flistar XP4, and that you glad to be here in this forum.

Welcome,I am new also.....I first want to thank you for serving in the military for us that stayed home and didn't serve like myself. You are much appreciated by this individual and that goes for everyone on here that did!!

Second.......anytime you have doubt about health the first I do is water change and I would go as high as 90%.....don't change filter just yet as you need the bacteria, change the media cartridge or whatever but preserve the natural bacteria in filter. Water changes can be magic, change it 5 days later even, maybe a 25% or so.

If you have chorinated water then treat the water beforehand so it doesn't kill your necessary friendly bacteria. Good Luck!
